Delicious Dark chocolate & Nut Bark

Makes 24 slices

Recipe:

When I first started on my journey of weight loss and changing my eating habits, this was my go to recipe to stave off the sweet cravings I used to get, especially if I hadn’t slept well. You only need a couple of pieces to satisfy your craving.

Its so easy anyone can make this! Very Dark chocolate is very high in antioxidants from the cocoa seed, the fats contained in it are mainly Oleic acid – the same type of fat as in olive oil. It also contains potassium, Zinc & Selenium. But it should only be eaten in small amounts as it is still high in calories.

You will need:

1 bar of very dark chocolate (75 or 85% cocoa solids)

Handful of mixed nuts (I like almonds and hazelnuts) chopped

Method:

-Melt the chocolate in the microwave in a glass bowl  (this will only take about 20-30 secs depending on the power of your microwave be careful , its easy to burn it !!) start with 20 secs.

-Mix the chopped nuts into the melted chocolate.

-Spread the mix onto a baking sheet or large plate on some grease proof paper or parchment. It should be quite thinly spread so that it sets quite quickly.

-Place in the fridge .

-When it is completely cold and set break the chocolate into pieces (it will break into randomly sized pieces) and place in a container with a lid.

You can change this recipe up by adding some dried Cranberries, Sultanas / Grated Coconut.
