Makes 8 slices dependent on puff pastry sheet
Recipe:
If you want to make a very quick, very easy dessert that also happens to yield impressive results– look no further!
1 package puff pastry sheets
Spray oil
3 apples, cored, halved, and sliced very thin
Honey for drizzling
1 pinch salt
Icing Sugar for dusting
Method:
-Preheat oven to 180 C
-Core and slice your apples into thin pieces
-Use the baking paper that is usually in the puff pastry packet, spray with your cooking oil (I use spray Olive Oil and it works just fine)
-Lay your apples into lines of 5 or 6 overlapping slices as shown in the image above
-Drizzle each line of apples with Honey
-Place the puff pastry over so that it lines up with the baking paper
-Where you see your apple, press gently around, allowing your pastry to stick to each line
-Slice the pastry in half horizontally and then portion into slices, ensuring each slice has a line of apple in the middle.
-Bake for 15 minutes, keep an eye around the 10 minute mark to ensure the pastry does not catch
-Remove from the oven and leave to cool. Don’t be tempted to flip these over just yet as the honey/apples will still be warm and wont stay stuck to the pastry.
-Once cooled, flip each slice over- dust with some icing sugar to finish
These pastry puffs pair nicely with some Greek yogurt and honey or just on their own with a nice cup of Tea!
